Davitch Sr., 77, of Billings Ave., Paulsboro, N.J., formerly of Jerome, died unexpectedly Sept. 24, 1999, at home. Born Oct. 1, 1921, in Johnstown, son of Peter and Stella (Bernett) Davitch. Preceded in death by parents, infant brother Vincent, brother Alex and sister Joann. Survived by wife, the former Alleene L. May; daughter Bonnie L., married to William A. "Tuck" Bracken, and son, George Robert Davitch Jr., all of Jerome. Also survived by grandchildren Frederick, Melissa, Lisa and Robert, great-grandchildren Kristen, Andrew and Darien, sister Lucy Haight, Seward; several nieces and nephews and close friend, Anthony Velahos, Gibbstown, N.J. He was a former local coal miner and dispatcher for Matlack Trucking Co., New Jersey. Currently employed as an apartment supervisor. U.S. Army Veteran of World War II, having served with a construction battalion in the Philippines. Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Route 403 and Church Road, Davidsville, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, very Rev. Father John W.
