  Arthur J. "Jim" Dawson Sr., 81, of Jennerstown, formerly of Akron, Ohio,
  died March 16, 2001, at Somerset Hospital.  Born Aug. 1, 1919, in Cuyahoga
  Falls, Ohio, son of William W. and Cora J. (Palus) Dawson.  Preceded in
  death by parents; first wife, Mary M. McIntire in 1956; son, Arthur J. Jr.;
  infant brother and sister; brothers, Bradford and Robert; sister, Pearl
  Rothermel; and son-in-law, Robert Paul.  Survived by wife of 38 years,
  former Dorothy F. (Thomas) Wheeler; children, Nancy Paul of Akron, Ohio,
  Pamela, married to Arthur Stanley, Daniel, married to former Dolores Eiben,
  and Clara Lewllyn, all of Cuyahoga Falls; stepdaughter, Glenda, married to
  John Bowman, Somerset RD; 15 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; sister
  Margaret Gauger of Talmidge, Ohio; and daughter-in-law, Shirley
  (Earlenbaugh) Dawson of Texas.  Member of Mt. Laurel United Church of
  Christ near Gray and Jenner Rod & Gun Club.  Honorary member of Jennerstown
  Volunteer Fire Dept.  Retired inspector for Firestone Tire and Rubber Co.,
  Akron.  He was also an avid gardener.  Friends received from 2-4 and 7-9
  p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Main Street, Boswell, where service
  will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Rev. Joseph M. Beer officiating.  Firemen's
  service 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.  Interment, Horner-Mt. Tabor
  Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to
  Jennerstown Volunteer Dept., Jennerstown, PA 15547, or Mt. Laurel United
  Church of Christ, 1207 Keysertown Road, Boswell, PA 15531.
