Born June 7, 1928 in Cumberland, he is a son of the late Earl E. and Elsie V. (Bingman) Dawson. Also preceded in death by a brother, William. Survived by B. Louise (Perdew) Dawson, his wife of nearly 50 years, whom he married May 16, 1953; four sons, Dennis D. "Denny" Dawson and wife Tracy (Hutson), Cumberland, Md., Ron L. Dawson and special friend Tammy Detrick, Berlin, Wayne E. Dawson and wife Lisa (Bradley), Burlington, N.C. and Kenny A. Dawson and wife Tammy (Whitford), Buffalo Mills; two brothers, E. James Dawson and wife Velma (Emerick) and Curtis E. Dawson and wife Jackie (Smeak), all of Buffalo Mills; two sisters, Margaret Jean Mellot and husband Ray, Corriganville, Md., and Ada Bedore and husband Joseph, Phoenix, Ariz.; 15 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mr. Dawson was a retired branch manager for Protection Services Inc. His farm was his passion and he spent many happy hours there tending the cattle and crops. He attended Melvin United Methodist Church, Cumberland, Md. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the Harvey H. Zeigler Funeral Home, 169 Clarence Street, Hyndman where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Interment, Madley Cemetery, Buffalo Mills.
