  JOHN M. DAWSON
  
  John M. Dawson, 77, of Boswell RD 2, died Jan. 17, 1982, at Windber
  Hospital.  Born March 8, 1904, in Clearfield County, a son of Francis and
  Alice (Smeal) Dawson.  Preceded in death by parents; three sisters, two
  brothers; a daughter-in-law, the former Kathleen Smith; and son-in-law,
  Donald Schmidt.  Survived by widow, Ethel Verda (Ellis) Dawson; and these
  children: Elaine Schmidt of Windber; Joyce, wife of Paul Blough, and John,
  both of Boswell RD 2; and Daryl, married to the former Sandra Gainer,
  Johnstown; 11 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren.  He was a brother
  of: Robert of Windber, Alzada Poole of Clinton, Ohio; Grace Smathers,
  Clarion; Violet Jones of Denver, Pa.; and Hazel Rose, California.  Member
  of the former Walsaw Mennonite Church.  Formerly employed by Berwind White
  Coal Co.  Was also a salesman for the Electrolux Co. until 1963.  Family
  receiving friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday at the George E. Mason
  Funeral Home, Davidsville, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m.
  Wednesday, the Rev. Lawrence Johns and the Rev. Donald G. Eller. 
  Interment, Blough Mennonite Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be
  made to the Windber Hospital Hospice Palliative Care Program.
