The body was prepared for burial by the Berlin mortician and removed to the home of the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Hutzell, of Meyersdale, where funeral services were held on Wednesday, April 3rd, at 2:00 p.m., with Rev. DeWitt L. Miller, pastor of the local Church of the Brethren, officiating. Interment in the family plot in Union Cemetery. The deceased was preceded in death by four brothers and one sister, Dorothy Alice being the sixth child to be called from the family circle where she will be sadly missed by her parents and the following brothers and sisters: William, of Berlin, R.D., Charles and John Jr., of Meyersdale, and Mary, Jacob, Glen, Rolland, Helen, Martha and Kenneth, all at home. Though her life was short, Dorothy Alice filled a happy place in the family circle, and in the hearts of her entire family. Much sympathy is felt for the bereaved parents who mourn the loss of so beautiful a babe. God sent a tiny blossom, Filled with fragrance from above. She was like a ray of sunshine Safely nourished by our love. But He hath need of that blossom, To bloom in a Land more fair. He called, and she went from us, But she blooms forever, there. Meyersdale Republican, April 11, 1940
