    Melvin C. Day, 81, of Berlin, formerly of Somerset, died Nov 1, 1996, at 
  Somerset Hospital.  Born March 13, 1915, in Reinbeck, Iowa.  Son of the late 
  Gilbert and Dorothy Day.  Survived by his wife of 48 years, the former Anna 
  Breneman; daughter, Mrs. Therman (Julia "Bonnie") Goble, Friedens RD 1; 
  grandchildren: Mrs. Larry (Connie) Mostoller, Friedens RD 1; Nita Alfonsi of 
  Somerset; and Mrs. Gerald (Jill) Moorhead, York; also eight great-grandchildren. 
  Family will receive friends from 7 p.m. until time of service at 8 p.m. Monday 
  at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, Bishop Irvin J. Knieriem officiating.
