Day, 85, of 33 Pineview Drive, Lock Haven, formerly of Somerset, died Feb. 19, 2002 in Lock Haven Hospital. Born July 23, 1916, in Blaine, W.Va., he was the son of the late Benjamin and Bertie (Iser) Day. Preceded in death by sisters Vivian, Edith, Edna and Brothers Homer and Lewis. Devoted husband and father. He is survived by his wife, Margretta (Holsopple) Day to whom he was married 52 years. He is also survived by children Barry and Sue Ann (Roades) Day of Doylestown, PA., David and Debby (Hoover) Day of Fairfield, Conn., and Carol and David Liddick of Lock Haven, Pa. Beloved grandfather to seven grandsons: Joshua Day; Collin, Devin and Ben Day; Brandon Day Norcini; Caleb and Gavin Day Liddick. He is also survived by a brother Lee Day and sisters Elma Miller and Mary Lobefalo of Somerset and Nellie Kaley of Carnegie. Step-grandchildren include Shanna and Adam Rhoades. After medical discharge from the service, he worked 37 years at Somerset Hospital as the purchasing agent. He received the Employee of the Year Award in 1978. He was a member of the American Hospital Association and member of the Purchasing Agents Society. He retired in 1980. He was a lifetime member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Somerset, where he served as both deacon and elder. He also attended St. Luke's United Church of Christ in Lock Haven. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Paul's United Church of Christ, West Union Street, Somerset, PA 15501, or to the American Cancer Society. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday in St. Paul's United Church of Christ, West Union Street, Somerset, with the Rev. Glenn Sadler officiating.
