She had been in ill health for about five years, and her condition became serious around 4 p.m. the day of her death. She was born at St. Paul on June 1, 1883, daughter of Ananias and Clara (Yutzy) Garlets and was 63 years, 5 months and 29 days in age at her passing. She is survived by her husband, John Milton Deal, one son, Harvey E. Deal, at home; six daughters; Mrs. Margaret Stevanus, Shaft, Md.; Mrs. Sadie Caton, Meyersdale Route 3; Miss Clara Deal, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Lulu Setzer, Finzel, Md. and Misses Mableand Carrie Deal, at home; one sister, Mrs. Sadie Wilhelm, Meyersdale and by seven grandchildren. She was a member of St. Mark's Reformed Church in Greenville where funeral services were conducted at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev. Ira S. Monn, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church, Salisbury, officiating. Interment was made in the Greenville Cemetery in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, December 8, 1949
