JOHN W. DEAL

  John W. Deal, aged 77, died at 11:45 o'clock last Friday morning, June 6, in 
the Connellsville State Hospital.
  He was born October 11, 1870, near Wittenburg, Somerset County.  For the past 
13 years he had resided with his daughter, Mrs. A. J. Reeves, in Connellsville.  
In early life he was employed as stationary engineer in lumber camps near 
Boswell and Indian Head.
  He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Connellsville.  His wife, Nancy 
Caler Deal, and one daughter, Mrs. Marie Dye, preceded him in death.
  Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Reeves and Mrs. James Reed, South 
Connellsville, and one son, Gilbert Deal, Toledo, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Perry 
Smith, Sand Patch, and Miss Nora Deal, Braddock; one brother, Harvey, Boswell; 
seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
  Funeral services were held last Sunday afternoon at the Charles A. McCormick 
Funeral Home, Connellsville, with Dr. W. H. Hetrick, pastor of Trinity Lutheran 
Church, officiating.  Burial was made in the White Oak Cemetery, Larimer 
Township.
