She was aged 52 years. She had been in ill health for some time, but was not bed fast until about two weeks before her death, which came very suddenly after having a stroke. She also had dropsy and weakness of the heart. Mrs. Deal spent most of her life at Listonburg and Addison. She was a good mother and kind neighbor. Her mother, Christiana Nukem, preceded her to the grave about seven years ago. Her father, John Nukem, also passed away some years ago. She also had two brothers who preceded her to the grave - Otto Nukem about seven years ago, after being wounded in a Negro riot whlle on the police force in Johnstown, the other brother when quite young. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband, five children and six grandchildren - Mrs. James Atkinson, Washington, D.C.; Mrs. John Frazee, Harnedsville; Mrs. Harry Campbell, Listonburg; Arthur J. Deal, Baltimore, Md., and Paul R. Deal, at home. Mrs. Deal was a member of the Lutheran Church of Addison. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Geo. O. Ritter in the Lutheran Church at Addison. Interment in the Addison Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, December 31, 1931
