Mr. Dean was born in Fayette County on January 17, 1867 and was 82 years, 9 months and 20 days old at his passing. He resided for a number of years in West Salisbury. His wife, the former Miss Sallie Engle, preceded him in death many years ago, and the only survivor is a daughter, Pearl, residing near Buffalo, New York. Funeral services were conducted in the Thomas Funeral Home at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Ira. S. Monn, pastor of St. John's Reformed Church officiating. Interment was in the Dean family cemetery near Markleysburg in Fayette County and was in charge of Mortician Stanley M. Thomas. Meyersdale Republican, November 10, 1949
