    Jay Russell Deaner Jr., 64, Boswell, died Sept. 25, 2007, at Memorial Medical Center,
  Johnstown. Born Sept. 7, 1943, in Somerset, the son of Jay Russell Deaner Sr. and Sarah
  Elizabeth (Fritz) Deaner. Preceded in death by father. Survived by mother, of Gray; wife,
  the former Marlene Joanna Shaulis, to whom he was married 41 years; children, Jason Troy
  Deaner, Mount Pleasant, S.C.; and Heather Renee Deaner, Turlock, Calif.; sisters, Myrah
  L. Plummer and friend, Bill James, Columbia Station, Ohio; Deborah K. Rader, Gray; and
  Mrs. Dennis (Cheryl) Duerring, Gray. A 1961 graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School,
  1970 graduate of Central Missouri State College. U.S. Air Force veteran of Vietnam, worked
  as a rural postal carrier out of Berlin for the last 26 years. Also attended Somerset
  Alliance Church, was a former member of the Somerset Jaycee's, he was formerly an AYSO
  Soccer coach for 15 years and assistant coach for North Star for eight years. He was an
  avid golfer and was a member of the Indian Lake Men's Golf League. Friends received from
  2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Hauger- Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset, where a
  service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. James E. Vandervort officiating.
