Deaner, 81, of White Horse Rd., Berlin, died July 30, 2000 at home. Born May 1, 1919 in Allegheny Township, son of Adam and Elmira (McVicker) Deaner. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Emma Grace Coleman, grandson, Daniel Lynn Deaner, brothers: Chalmer, Spurgeon, and Russell Deaner, and sisters: Grace Hauger and Nellie Stutzman. Survived by these sons: Wayne Married to the former Donna McCurdy, Saxonburg; Ronald married to the former Donna Stern, Somerset; Larry, married to the former Kay Will and Lynn married to the former Marjorie Vaughan, both of Berlin. Grandchildren, Brenda Negley, Dawn Woolston, Carrie, Bryan, Adam, and Douglas Deaner. Great-grandchildren: Levi and Olivia Grace Negley. Foster father to 14 boys including Joseph Brothers of Somerset. Retired Allegheny Township farmer. Member of Berlin Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, Valley Grange where he served as grangemaster for many years, Berlin Historical Society where he served on the board, Mt. Zion Cemetery Board, and Berlin Community Fair Board. Former Berlin Brothersvalley School Board member, and former member and president of St. Luke's Mountain U.C.C. and Trinity U.C.C., Berlin. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing also from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Berlin CMA Church, Rev. Sherman Berkey officiating. Interment, Mr. Lebanon Cemetery, Glencoe.
