DEANER 

Russell R. Deaner, 92, of Somerset RD 2, died Nov. 7, 1984, at Somerset 
Community Hospital.  Born Aug. 23, 1892, in New Baltimore, son of the late Adam 
E. and Elmira (McVicker) Deaner.  Also preceded in death by two brothers, 
Chalmer and Spurgeon, and two sisters, Nell Stutzman and Grace Hauger.  
Survived by wife, the former Rachel Cassler; and two sons, Robert of Somerset 
RD 2 and Rusell [sic] Ross Jr. of Cleveland, Ohio; three granddaughters; and 
one brother, Richard of Berlin.  Member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the 
American Legion.  Former secretary of the Somerset School Buildings Authority 
and a former Somerset County teacher and a veteran of World War I.  Friends 
will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Thursday at the Richard E. Hauger 
Funeral Home, where service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Friday, the Rev. 
Gregg Anderson, associate pastor, officiating.  Interment, Somerset County 
Memorial Park.
