Deaner, 86, of 308 Auburn Avenue, died May 14, 1982 in Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Md., He was born in Berlin, on Oct. 8, 1895, and was a son of the late Adam and Elmira (McVicker) Deaner. Preceding him in death was his wife, Ruth Ella (Coughenour) Deaner. He was a retired B&O Railroad conductor and a member of the Brotherhood of Railway Trainmen. He was a member of First Church of the Nazarene. He is survived by four sons, Leland Deaner, Ravenna, Ohio; Earl Deaner, Accord, N.Y.; Paul Deaner, Wiley Ford; and Wendell Deaner, Hamburg, N.Y.; three daughters, Mrs. Rena Souders, Ridgeley, W. Va.; Mrs. Myre Meyers, North Versailles; and Mrs. Carol Minnick, Cumberland, Md.; two brothers, Russell Deaner, Somerset; Richard Deaner, Berlin; one sister, Mrs. Nellie Stutzman, Berlin; 13 grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and three great-great- grandchildren. Friends were received the Scarpelli Funeral Home where services were conducted with the Rev. John Cramer officiating. Interment, Rest Lawn Memorial Garden. Pallbearers were Wendell Deaner, George Cober Jr., Patrick Souders, Harry Deaner, James Deaner and Allen Deaner, all grandchildren. The Republic, May 20, 1982 [D0281]
