  Rodger Dale DeArmitt, 71, Somerset, died April 26, 2006, at Somerset Hospital,
  Somerset. Born Aug. 21, 1934 in Kimmelton, the son of George and Naomi
  (Berkebile) DeArmitt. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Melvin, Benjamin
  and Don; and sisters, Beatrice and Evelyn. Survived by loving wife Arlene
  (Shaffer) DeArmitt to whom he was married for 32 years; children Kim Lowry and
  husband, Jeff; Rex DeArmitt and wife, Brenda (McKenzie); Rodger and wife,
  Christine (Blake); Cathy (Haer) Qualters and husband, Tom; Michele (Haer)
  Carpenter and husband, Gerald; grandchildren, Justin, Blake, Rodger and Shannon
  DeArmitt; Casey and Zach Carpenter and Kelsey Foor; great-grandchildren, Rodger
  and Lucas; sisters Marjorie Brant; Myrtle Carmany; Katherine, wife of George
  Swartzwelder; Mary Jane, wife of Floyd Brant; and Faye, wife of Patrick
  Ibinson; sister-in-law, Mary DeArmitt. Also survived by numerous nieces and
  nephews. Former employee of PBS Coal. Mr. DeArmitt was an avid hunter and
  fisher-man who enjoyed the out-doors and camping. He was a wonderful and loving
  husband, father and grandfather. No visitation, viewing or flowers at Rodger's
  request. Memorial service will be con-ducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at the
  Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home, Somerset. The Rev. Daniel Nicksich officiating.
