Born Dec. 22, 1923, in Boswell, son of George and Elizabeth (Miller) Dedik Sr. Preceded in death by parents; two infant sisters, Mary and Elizabeth; sister, Theresa (Dedik) Blucas; and brother, Stephen. Survived by wife of 59 years, the former Marion Metz; children, Georgette, married to Dennis Rankin, Fredericksburg, Va.; Patricia Dedik, and husband Thomas Haueter, Great Falls. Va.; Susan, married to Daniel Curley, Malvern; and David, married to Karen Nakamura, Manassas, Va.; grandchildren, Christopher, Mikal and Jason Rankin, and Daniel, Kim and Dennis Curley; and seven great-grandchildren. Brother of Agnes Dedik, Walter Dedik and Robert Dedik, all of Boswell; Verna Sendek, Jerome; and Virginia "Tootie," married to Edward Ference, Greensburg. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives. Member of All Saints Catholic Parish, United Steel Workers of America, Jenner Rod and Gun Club and the Boswell Post 461 American Legion, for over 50 years. Avid hunter and fisherman, who also loved nature walks. Army veteran of World War II and a retired employee of the former Johnstown Plant, Bethlehem Steel Corp. Viewing from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Hoffman Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Main Street, Boswell, where a vigil for the deceased will be held at 3 p.m. Monday. Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Tuesday at All Saints Church, Boswell, the Rev. Father Daniel G. Fink, OFM, Conv., celebrant. Committal, St. Stanislaus Cemetery, Boswell, with military graveside service in charge of the Somerset County Honor Guard.
