  ELKINS C. DEETER
  
    Elkins C. Deeter, 84, of Berlin died Oct. 19, 1993, at Somerset Hospital.
  Born Dec. 16, 1908, in Berlin.  Son of Zachariah and Jane (Bridegum)
  Deeter.  Preceded in death by parents; sister, Irene Smith; brothers,
  Ferris and Ronald Devon Deeter.  Survived by his wife of 57 years, the
  former Margaret May, and these children: Mrs. Jack (Betty Lou) Hess of
  Harmony, and Robert E., married to the former Hilda Hernandez, of Easton;
  grandchildren Mark, Michael, Barbara and Brian Hess and Cristopher Deeter,
  and great-grandchildren Ryan, Jenna, Sarah and Ian Hess.  Former co-owner
  of Modern Dairy, Berlin.  Retired Pennsylvania state food inspector.  World
  War II Army veteran.  Member of Berlin Brethren Church and Berlin VFW. 
  Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner
  Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, the
  Rev. Bryan G. Karchner officiating.  Interment, IOOF Cemetery, Berlin.
  Memorial Contributions may be given to Berlin Brethren Church or Somerset
  Hospital  building fund.  Gravesite military rites by Berlin VFW and
  American Legion.
