Deeter, 84, of Edinburg, died Oct. 31, 2002 at Jameson Memorial Hospital. Born June 30, 1918 in Somerset County son of Milton and Martha (Saylor) Deeter. Preceded in death by parents, his wife the former Edna Emerick whom he married April 10, 1940 and died June 6, 1989, a son Larry Clarence Deeter, brothers: Earl, Curtis, Milton Jr., and James Deeter, and sisters Elnora Snyder, Ethel Mae Kopacha and Lois Mackey. Survived by a daughter Sharon married to Jack McConahy, and a son John O. Jr. both of Edinburg, two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was a brother of Martha Brown of Greencastle, Helen St. Clair, Ruth Martin, George and Charles Deeter all of Somerset and Robert Deeter of Greensboro, N.C. He was a threader operator for LTV Steel for 19 years retiring in 1974. Member of the former St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Mountain Field and Stream Club and S.O.A.R. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who truly loved the outdoors. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday. Rev Ralph G. Landis officiating. Interment Mt.
