He was born in Berlin August 13, 1900, the son of Andrew and Mary Smith Deeter, and attended the Berlin schools. He lived in Altoona where he was engaged as a railway express messenger until a year ago when due to failing health, he moved to the home of his wife's parents, Berlin R.D. 3. He is survived by his wife, Hilda Broesecker Deeter; two daughters, Shirley and Doris; two sons, Ronald and Robert Jr., all at home; also by seven sisters and two brothers - Mrs. Freeman Tipton, Mrs. J. H. Garman, Mrs. H. E. Moore, Mrs. J. S. Lowry, all of Berlin; Mrs. Paul Hurd and Mrs. Stewart Heffley, Boswell, and Mrs. W. G. Baltzer, Shanksville; Howard Deeter, Pontiac, Mich., and Harry Deeter, Berlin. Mr. Deeter was an active member of the Lutheran Church and of the Brotherhood of Railroad Clerks. Funeral services were held last Friday at 2:30 at the Johnson Funeral Home, with Rev. Robert S. Nagle officiating. Interment in I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Berlin. Meyersdale Republican, June 20, 1946
