"Dutch" Deist, 70, of 10023 Deist Lane NW, Frostburg, Md., formerly of Meyersdale, died Thursday, June 1, 1995, at the Veterans Administration Center, Martinsburg, W. Va. Born May 2, 1925, at Sand Patch, Pa. Son of the late Dennis Deist and Mayme (Baughman) Deist. Also preceded in death by wife, Margaret C. Deist, and one brother, Cloyd Deist. A retired employee of Constellation Design Group, Inc., Timonium. Navy Seabee veteran of World War II and was a member of the Frostburg Congregational Church. Surviving are one daughter, Nora "Kitty" Darby, and husband Joe, Frostburg; three grandchildren: Mike Darby, Frostburg; Lawrence Darby, Cumberland, and Margaret Blank, Jenners. Six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Durst Funeral Home, Frostburg, where services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Saturday, the Rev. Joe Penick officiating, Interment, Frostburg Memorial Park. Family requests memorials be directed to the Frostburg Congregational Church, 103 Bowery St., Frostburg, Md., 21532.
