    Donald B. Deist, 63, Boswell RD 3, died Feb. 18, 1984, at home.  Born
  Feb. 4, 1921, in Summit Mills, son of Benjamin F. and Ada (Meese) Deist. 
  Preceded in death by parents; wife, the former Violet E. Shaffer, who died
  Aug. 25, 1962; sister, Evelyn Gohn; and brother, James Daniel Deist. 
  Survived by these children: Nevin C., married to the former Diane
  Berkebile, Berlin RD 1; Donald R., married to the former Delores Thomas,
  Stoystown RD 2; Robert L., married to the former Lois Brant, Boswell RD 2;
  Carole E., wife, of R. Richard Sachs, Davidsville; Joan F., wife of Jesse
  D. Shroyer, Boswell RD 1; Linda P., wife, of Richard D. Holsopple,
  Hooversville RD 1; Nancy L., wife of William L. Dull, Johnstown; Joyce A.,
  wife of Edward L. Thomas, Hollsopple RD 1; and Ronald B., married to the
  former Helen Berchick, Hollsopple; 21 grandchildren.  Brother of: Mrs.
  Edith Avery, Dover, Dela.; Dalton and Emily, both of Jenners; and Charles,
  Columbia, Md.  Former partner in Boswell Hardware, currently operated by
  sons Donald and Robert.  Friends were received Sunday evening and will be
  received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227
  Allegheny St., Boswell, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday with
  the Rev. Samuel E. Charlton officiating.  Interment, Somerset County
  Memorial Park.
