  DEIST
  
    James Daniel Deist, 64, Boswell RD 3, was dead on arrival Dec. 9, 1983,
  at Somerset Community Hospital.
    He was born Nov. 14, 1919, son of Benjamin F. and Ada (Meese) Deist.  He
  was preceded in death by parents; son, 1st Lt. Roy D., who died March 27,
  1976; grandson, Jerome Deist; and sister, Evelyn Gohn.
    He is survived by two children: Larry E., Manheim; and Sandra L., married
  to Richard Bowser, Lancaster; and granddaughter, Lana Deist.  He was a
  brother of: Edith Avery, Dover; Donald B., Boswell; Dalton and Emily, both
  of Jenners; and Charles, Ellicott City, Md.  He was an army veteran of
  World War II.
    Friends were received at Hoffman Funeral Home, 227 Allegheny St.,
  Boswell, where services were held with the Rev. Max DeArmey officiating. 
  Interment, Jenner Crossroad Cemetery.
