Deist, 76, Meyersdale RD 2, died Jan. 6, 1972. Born in Northampton Township, Sept. 14, 1895, she was a daughter of the late Samuel A. and Alice (Bauman) Poorbaugh. She was preceded in death by two sons, Wayne, in infancy, and Lee S. in 1943, and by two sisters, Mrs. Ida Hartman and Mrs. Ruby Hartman Surviving are her husband, Charles H. Deist, and these children: Mrs. Thomas (Helen) Cilkes, Florida; Mrs. Paul (Virginia) Holsberry, Tallmadge, Ohio; Leo C. And James E., both of Lakemore, Ohio; William P. Bethel Park; Robert R., Monroe Falls, Ohio; Duane R., Seymour Johnson Air Base, Goldsboro,N.C.; nine grandchildren; one brother, Samuel J. Poorbaugh, Glencoe RD 1; and three sisters, Mrs. Nellie Keidel, Meyersdale RD 2; Mrs. George (Verna) Delozier, Connellsville; and Mrs. Earl (Elizabeth) Miller, Johnstown. She was a member of Mt. Lebanon United Church of Christ. Funeral service was conducted Monday afternoon in Johnson and Son Funeral Home, Berlin, with Rev. Terry Foor officiating. Interment in Mt. Lebanon Cemetery.
