  ROBERT H. DEIST
  
    Robert H. "Pappy" Deist, 79, 344 E. Pitt St., Bedford, died suddenly July 3,
  1979, at his home Born Sept.  4, 1899, in Meyersdale, son of Charles and
  Minnie (Kroushour) Deist.  Survived by widow, former Nelle Statler, and three
  children Vida, wife of John Shaffer, and Robert Lee, both of Bedford; also
  seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.  Brother of William C.,
  Glencoe; Albert, Salisbury; Mrs. Florence Poorbaugh, Corriganville, Md.;
  Mrs. Ella Shrader, Frostburg, Md.; and Mrs. Mary Folk, Salisbury.  Founder
  of Deist Cleaning Co.  51 years ago.  Retired in 1969, but still was active
  in business at time of death.  Member of St. John's United Church of Christ,
  Bedford, and Bedford Elks Lodge
   Friends were received at Louis Geisel Funeral Home, Bedford, where
  services were held with the Rev. Melvin Walper.  Interment, Mt. Lebanon
  Cemetery, Glencoe.   Elks held memorial services at 8 p.m. Thursday at
  funeral home.
