Born April 17, 1902, in Needmore, she was a daughter of John and Mahala (Truax) Mellott. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Ross Barnhart; two brothers, two sisters, two granddaughters and one grandson. She is survived by husband, Frank L. whom she married April 17, 1962; daughter, Mrs. Seymore (Evelyn) Ackerman, Rockway, N.J.; stepchildren: Robert L. Denner, Friedens RD 2; Mrs. James Nancy Smith, Hyattsville, Md.; grandchildren: Mrs. John Linda Fox Jr., Shanksville; Robert Ackerman, Port Murray, N.J.; Deborah Ackerman, Madison, Wis.; three stepgrandchildren; five great-grandchildren. She was a sister of Vernon and Marshall, both of Needmore; Mrs. Stanley Laura Sharpe, Dot; Mrs. Jules Edna Snowhite, Baltimore, Md. She was formerly employed at the Seay Home, Somerset, and was a member of Shanksville United Methodist Church. Family received friends Friday evening and will receive friends from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Saturday in the Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday with the Rev.
