DeNorcy Jr., 69, of Hooversville, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 1995, at Windber Hospital. Born Feb. 25, 1926, in Sagamore, son of the late George W. Sr. and Anna (Czech) DeNorcy. Survived by his wife of 47 years, the former Ellen Louise Carey; son Carey M. and his wife, the former Gloria Vogatsky, of Indian Lake; daughter Christine E. and husband Fred Ogline, of Hooversville. Grandson Steven C. of Windber and granddaughter Jannette L. Ogline of Hooversville. Also survived by these brothers and sisters: Edward, Mesa, Ariz.; Dorothy Checchi, Wilmington, Del.; Richard of West Seneca, N.Y.; Agnes Yatta and Edwin, both of Central City; Dolores Kawecki, Buffalo, N.Y., and Marcella Razwadowski of Yardley. Also many beloved nieces and nephews. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Car Shop. Proud 4th Division, Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. Lifetime member of Hooversville Fire Company, where he had served as fire chief. Past president of Hooversville Community Center for many years, and was instrumental in the Roller Skating Program. Former Borough Council member. Active member of the Conemaugh Valley Detachment of the Marine Corps League. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He love to hunt, do carpentry, watch Barry Awtey race at Jennerstown, and he was an avid NASCAR fan. The Marine Corps League was his passion, and he was a true Marine till the time of his passing. He fought all the way, as hard as he could. He will be missed, but never forgotten. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville, where wake service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Thursday by Msgr. Francis Gorney. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville, Rev. Paul Robine officiating. Interment, P.O.S. of A. Cemetery, Hooversville.
