Derencin, 64, Bozeman, Mont., died Aug. 20, 2001, at home. Born June 23, 1937, in Somerset Township. A son of Fred A. Derencin of Friedens and the late Lillian (Sullivan) Derencin and his stepmother Daisy (Merringer). Preceded in death by grandparents Marijan and Amelia (Albert) Derencin and brother James E. Survived by his wife, the former Helen Sale; daughter Theresa Bodick and granddaughter Crista Bodick, both of Issaquah, Wash. Brother of Cecelia Weller of Hemet, Calif.; John J. of Bellflower, Calif.; Carol Alumbaugh of Placentia, Calif.; and Jack Derencin of Buena Park, Calif. Graduate of Somerset High School. Owned and operated a machine shop in Hawaiian Gardens and Bozeman Mountain until he became ill with cancer. His ashes will be scattered along a railroad track in Montana because he was born less than 50 feet from the railroad track. Daily American, August 22, 2001 [D0464]
