DENNIS DETRICK

  GRANTSVILLE, Md., April 21 - Dennis Detrick, aged 56 years, of Bittinger, Md., 
died in the Memorial Hospital, Cumberland, Saturday morning.  He was taken very 
ill at his home two weeks ago and was admitted to the hospital, April 11.  He 
was the son of John Detrick who survives.  He is also survived by his wife, who 
was Miss Harriet Beachy and twelve children - Elmer, of Uniontown, Pa.; Webster, 
Richeyville, Pa.; Delbert, Inwood, W.Va.; Arthur, Claywood, Raymond, Ralph, 
Harvey, Leona, Ruth, Grace and Marian, at home.  Mr. Detrick was a mail carrier 
on the Star Route, from Bittinger to Grantsville, for 13 years, and since then 
has been farming.  The funeral was held at the Lutheran Church at Bittinger on 
Monday afternoon and was largely attended.  Rev. E. E. Campbell officiated; 
interment in the near-by church cemetery.
