Born May 9, 1916 in Bittinger, Md., a son of the late Dennis and Harriet (Beachy) Detrick. He was also preceded in death by six brothers, Elmer, Harry, Arthur, Delbert, Clayford and Raymond Detrick and four sisters, Verna Detrick, Leona Detrick, Ruth Duckworth and Grace Simmons. Survivors include his wife, B. Lucille (Maust) Detrick, two sons, Roger Detrick, Lexington Park, Md., and Kenneth Detrick, Springs; two daughters, Barbara Brown, Longwood, Fla., and Harriet Berg, Hidden Valley; a brother, Ralph Detrick, Uniontown; a sister Miriam Hummel, Salt Lake City, Utah; six grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. He retired after 33 years as a kilnman for Otto Brick and Tile Works. He was a member of Springs Mennonite Church and formerly a member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, Bittinger. Mr. Detrick was a 55 year member of Woodman of the World, Camp 68, Bittinger. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Newman Funeral Homes, P.A., Grantsville, Md. Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Springs Mennonite Church with the Rev. Steven Heatwole officiating. Interment will be in the Springs Cemetery.
