  ELMER L. DIA
  
    Elmer L. Dia, 86, of Silver Spring, Md., died there July 16, 1977.  He
  was a former resident of Meyersdale.
    Born in Meyersdale, he was a son of the late Christian and Carrie
  (Ebbecka) Dia.  A veteran of Worl War I, Mr. Dia was a retired foreman for
  the Pennsylvania Highways Department.  He was a charter member of the
  Meyersdale Post, Veterans of Foreign Wars.
    Surviving are his widow, Ruth (Stahl) Dia; a sister, Miss Caroline Dia,
  of Meyersdale, and several nieces and nephews.
    Funeral services were held Tuesday at the Leckemby Funeral Home with Rev.
  Harold Appel and Rev. Boyd Dickey officiating.  Interment was in Union
  Cemetery where military rites were accorded by the Meyersdale VFW Post.
