"Ben" Dickey, 64, of Berlin, died May 11, 1993, at Somerset Hospital. Born Dec. 1, 1928, in Berlin, son of Frank and Gladys (Smith) Dickey. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Betty Mae Pugh. Survived by wife of 33 years, the former Carol Jean Platt Moore; daughters - Tracy and Mrs. Lynn (Lori) Hoppert, both of Berlin; grandsons, Landon and Lance Hoppert. Brother of Caroline Davis, Somerset; Frances Hull, Johnstown; Lana Jean Clemens, Alice Trent and Lewis, all of Berlin, and Jerome, Hollywood, Fla. Formerly employed by PBS Coals. An Army Veteran of the Korean War and member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, where he sang in the choir. A member of the Berlin American Legion. Formerly played with the Country Doves western band. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, Rev. Melvin A. Kirk Jr. officiating. No viewing at the church. Interment, Berlin IOOF Cemetery.
