Dickey, aged 66, died at her home on Salisbury Street, Wednesday afternoon after a long illness. She was a daughter of the late Rev. Joel J. Welch, for many years a prominent minister of the Lutheran Church in Somerset County, and a sister of Hon. Everett Welch, of Friedens, a former member of the Pennsylvania Legislature. Soon after her marriage, Mrs. Dickey came to Meyersdale with her husband and had lived here ever since. Mr. Dickey, who was chief clerk in the Dull Mercantile Company's store in Meyersdale for many years, also a member of and secretary of the Meyersdale Citizen's Bank and Clerk of the Borough Council and a Borough Auditor during most of the time he lived in Meyersdale, died about three years ago, since which time his widow continued to live here with several of her children. The following named children survive her: Three sons - Carl, Joel and W. M. Dickey - and six daughters - Mrs. J. H. Nicklin, Mrs. John Bangerd, Mrs. H. F. Worth, Helen, Bessie and Alice Dickey - also five grandchildren - Joseph, James and Ralph Dickey and James and Eileen Bangerd. Funeral services will be conducted Friday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock at the Dickey home, in charge of Rev. Howard K. Hilner, pastor of the local Lutheran Church. Interment will be in the Union Cemetery. J. L. Tressler has charge of the burial arrangements. Meyersdale Republican, October 13, 1932
