Donald Dickey, 79, Somerset, died Nov. 12, 1995, at his residence. Born Aug. 22, 1916 in Friedens, son of the late Stewart Michael and Mabel Lucille (Barnhart) Dickey. Preceded in death by a brother, Roy Dickey. Survived by his wife, the former N. Grace Countryman, and these children: D. Jean Marteeny, widow of Robert E. Marteeny, Somerset RD 3, and Jack S. Dickey, married to the former Debbie Jones, Stephens City, Va. Also six grandchildren: Gregory A. Marteeny, Fairfax Station, Va.; Jeffrey S. Marteeny, Sterling, Va.; Scott E. Marteeny, Somerset RD 3; Jennifer S. Dickey, Harrisonburg, Va.; John S. Dickey, Stephens City. Va.; Sam M. Dickey, Stephens City, Va. Also two great-grandsons: Michael R. and Ryan L. Marteeny. 1933 graduate of Friedens High School and had attended Pennsylvania State University. World War II veteran of U.S. Navy. Retired in 1978 as the dietary manager at Somerset State Hospital with 20 years service. Member of Trinity Lutheran Church and Lodge 358, F.& A.M. No viewing or visitation and no flowers, please. Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Trinity Lutheran Church, with Rev. Robert L. Hoover Jr., officiating. Private interment in Somerset County Memorial Park.
