Dickey, 87, Meyersdale, died Aug. 24, 2004, at Meyersdale Medical Center. Born April 16, 1917, in Meyersdale, a son of the late Joel and Genevieve (Lancaster) Dickey. Also preceded in death by two brothers; Ralph and James; stepdaughter, Judy Lee Weimer and great-grandson, Aaron Edward Short. Survived by his wife, the former Anna M. Neimiller; four grandchildren: Brian L. Short, Lisa A. Michael, Todd E. Short, and Jodie L. Alfonso; and six great-grandchildren. Joe was a veteran of the U.S. Army, having served in World War II. He retired from GTE in 1979 with 33 years of service. Friends will be received 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at the Price Funeral Home Meyersdale. Funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m. Friday at SS. Philip & James Catholic Church. The Rev. James M. Dugan celebrant. Committal will follow at SS. Philip & James Cemetery, Meyersdale.
