Born Nov. 15, 1932, in Black Township, a son of Francis Russell and Mary Ellen (Youler) Dickey. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Leora G. (Yinkey) Kelly-Dickey; brother, Harry D. Dickey; stepsister, Jean Wolk and brother-in-law William Meyers. Survived by wife the former Betty Ann Meyers to whom he was married 51 years on July 2, 2004; children: Robert Edwin Dickey Jr. married to the former Nancy Budzina, Friedens; Mrs. Michael (Coralee) Prokop, Somerset; Mrs. Michael (Regina) Sechler, Markleton; Mrs. Warren (Beverly) Kister Jr., Somerset; and Mrs. Blaine (Charlene) King, Markleton; seven grandchildren: Bradley Dickey and wife Mary, Friedens; Mrs. Tony (Mary) Carolus, Friedens; Heather and Chad Kister, Somerset; Michael Sechler, Markleton; Carlyle Meekins, Berlin; and Ian King, Markleton; five great-grandchildren: Alexander, Brandi and Morgan Dickey, Ariellia Miller and Trace Carolus. Brother of Francis J. Dickey and wife Ruth, Rockwood; Donald R. Dickey and wife Mildred, Somerset; Mrs. Helen Hoyman, Berlin; stepsister, Mrs. Robert F. (Virginia) Henderson, Somerset; sister-in-law Doris Dickey-Kincaid and husband Ralph, Rockwood; brother-in-law Edward Meyers and wife Edita, Kettle Falls, Wash. Life member of Milford United Methodist Church where he served as Sunday school teacher and Sunday school superintendent and youth leader and on board of trustees. A 1950 graduate of Somerset High School. Korean War veteran U.S. Army. Retired mechanic at the New Lexington Garage. Friends received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the Hauger-Zeigler Funeral Home. Viewing at Milford United Methodist Church, Somerset from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. time of service. The Rev. Randall W. Bain officiating. Interment Rockwood I.O.O.F. Cemetery.
