  C. EARL DIEHL
  
    C. Earl Diehl, 86, 422 Mount Carmel Drive, Windber, died Jan. 27, 1983,
  at Windber Hospital.
    He was born Nov. 6, 1896, in Bedford County, son of Ulysses G. and
  Roxanne Mae (Osborne) Diehl.
    He was preceded in death by parents; brothers, David R. and Alfred Guy;
  and sisters, Edna Oster and Helen Wertz.
    He is survived by widow, former Lorraine P. Helsel; son, Charles, married
  to former Eileen Jones, Johnstown; and daughter, Martha, wife of Francis
  Rogel, Windber; also foster children, Boyd Shaffer, married to former
  Sylvia Griffith, Plains, and Phillip Shaffer, Linden, N.J.; also six
  grandchildren.  Last member of immediate family.
    Friends were received at the Meek Funeral Home, Inc., where services were
  held with the Rev. Ronald Flemming officiating.  Interment, Friends Cove
  Cemetery, Bedford RD.
