Diehl, 76, West Salisbury, died Nov. 17 at Meyersdale. Born March 8, 1891, in Elk Lick Twp., he was a son of William H. and Fredericka (Gurke) Diehl. He is survived by his wife, the former Eva C. Cochrane; three sons: William J., Kampsville, Ill.; Roy E., Atlantic City, N.J.; and George E., El Paso, Texas; five daughters: Miss Kathryn Diehl, Meyersdale; Mrs. Isabelle Rodamer, Flagtown, N.J.; Mrs. Ethel Zabawa, Manville, N.J.; Mrs. Ruth Ansell, Cumberland; and Mrs. Jean Rembold, Springs. Three brothers: William J., Salisbury; George E., Somerville, N.J.; and Earl, Somerset; three sisters: Mrs. Edna Glotfelty, Pittsburgh; Mrs. Edith Bowman, Boynton and Mrs. Marguerite Brown, Salisbury; 26 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Mr. Diehl was a member of Salisbury Methodist Church, Salisbury IOOF and an honorary life member of Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department. Service was held Monday afternoon at Thomas Funeral Home with the Rev. William A. Cassidy officiating. Interment followed in Salisbury IOOF Cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, November 23, 1967 [D0589]
