  Samuel C. Diehl, 90, of 847 E. Avenue, Johnstown, formerly of Jerome, died
  Aug. 6, 1975 at Memorial Hospital.  Born March 6, 1885, in Listonburg, a
  son of Henry C. and Elizabeth (Christner) Diehl.  Preceded in death by
  parents, wife, the former Bertha Dean who died Oct. 22, 1953, two infant
  sons, seven sisters and three brothers.  Survived by these children: Grace,
  wife of Roy Emerick of Jerome; Elizabeth, wife of William Jacobs, Warwick,
  R.I.; Thelma, wife of Purney Acker, Lexington, Mass.; Harry, married to the
  former Marion Kurtz, Fay, wife of Marie Steinkirchner, Frank, married to the
  former Agnes Molchany, all of Johnstown; 18 grandchildren and 15
  great-grandchildren.  Charter member of Jerome Church of the Nazarene. 
  Resident of Jerome for more than 50 years.  Friends received from 7 to 9
  p.m. Friday (today), 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and until noon on Sunday at
  Joseph G. Hoffman Funeral Home, 409 Main St., Boswell, when the body will be
  removed to the Jerome Church of the Nazarene to lie in state until time of
  service at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Elwood R. Zandiver officiating.  Interment,
  Park Place Cemetery, Uniontown.  There will be no viewing at the church.  In
  lieu of flowers, family requests contributions be made to the Jerome Church
  of the Nazarene.
