Dietle, retired farmer and coal miner, died at his home three miles south of Meyersdale, about 7:40 o'clock last Saturday evening, Aug. 30, after having figured in an auto collision about 10 a.m. Saturday. The octogenarian, who celebrated his 80th birthday in July, was driving out from his home to highway Rt. 219, and pulled out in front of a Ferndale Bakery truck, driven by Robert Sembower of Rockwood. He was rendered first aid by a physician and was later taken to the Hazel McGilvery Hospital for x-ray examination where it was revealed that his only injuries were slight head lacerations. Death was attributed to heart failure, due to nervous shock. He is survived by several nieces and nephews and a sister-in-law. His wife preceded him in death in 1934, one son in 1918 and another in 1902. Funeral services were held at the Konhaus Funeral Home at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, according to arrangements made with Mr. Konhaus by Mr. Dietle several years ago. Burial was made in Union Cemetery.
