He was aged 27 years, 10 months and 19 days, having been born Dec. 22, 1903. His death came as a shock to everyone, as he was sick only a week. He had a bad cold, which developed into pneumonia. His physician advised the family to get a trained nurse, which they did, but it seemed nothing could be done to save his life. Lloyd will be greatly missed by all who knew him, as he was always willing to help his friends and neighbors in whatever way he could. When one of his friends was very ill in a hospital, Lloyd went to his bedside and spoke these words of comfort to him: "You are a good boy and I am praying earnestly for you." So he has made use of that beautiful hymn, "I am praying for you." The boy has said he shall ever remember those comforting words. And so he made many friends by his kindness. He is survived by his wife, who was Miss Mildred Miller, of Greenville Township, and daughter, Agnes Marie, and his mother and three brothers, John, Irvin and Simon, and two sisters, Mrs. Millard Steinly and Mrs. Harvey Geiger. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon, Nov. 15th, in the Greenville Lutheran Church of which Rev. S. D. Sigler, conducted the funeral services. The funeral was one of the largest ever held in that church. There were many who could not get into the church. Friends came from far and near to pay their respects to the friend they loved. William C. Price of Meyersdale was in charge of the burial arrangements. Interment was made in the church cemetery. Meyersdale Republican, November 19, 1931
