Discavage Jr., 92, Rhoads Road, Stoystown, formerly of Martindale (Cambria County), died May 10, 2004, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Oct. 12, 1911, in Martindale, son of Anthony Sr. and Constance (Lukosavich) Discavage. Preceded in death by parents; wife of 57 years, the former Vera Mae Bowser, March 2, 1996; infant son, Anthony; brother, William and sisters, Victoria McCabe, Viola Nolan and Matilda Smetana. Survived by daughter, Judith, wife of Allen Rhoads, with whom he resided; grandchildren, Lisa married to Joseph Grosholz, Natrona Heights, Karen married to Shawn Wills, Aurora, Colo. and Scott at home; great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn and Tyler Grosholz; sisters, Elsie married to Joseph Timura, Portage and Ida, married to Stanley Doroba, Solon, Ohio; brother, Bernard, Altoona and sister-in-law, Bessie Discavage, Martindale. Member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Kittanning, Allegheny Valley Fraternal Order of Police; Kittanning Lodge BPO Elks; Kittaning East Brady Lodge 244 F & AM; Orient Royal Arch Chapter 247, Kittaning; Coudersport Consistory and numerous sportmen's clubs through the years. Avid hunter and fisherman who also loved baseball, having played on numerous coal mine teams in his younger years. Former coal miner and deputy game protector for the Pennsylvania Game Commission. Retired as warden for the Pennsylvania Fish Commission, (Armstrong County) with 25 years service. Friends received from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at Hoffman Funeral Home, Allegheny Street, Boswell. Viewing also from 1:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Mount Hope United Church of Christ, Blue Knob, Blair County. The Rev. Kathleen A. Kuehl officiating.
