Dittman, 83, of West Mifflin, died Nov. 22, 2000, at Richland Woods Assisted Living in Johnstown. Born May 16, 1917, in Duquesne. Preceded by his parents, Leo H. and Marie (Tierney) Dittman. Also a brother Leo Dittman and a sister Lois Fruecht. Suvived by his wife, the former Dorothy Heil; and four children: Deanne D. Palmer, Saratoga Springs, N.Y.; Gail D. Terry, Hidden Valley; Craig J., Munhall; and Audrey D. Hall, Seabrook, Texas; two sisters, Miriam Teichart, Darein, Ill.; and LaVaughn "Bonnie" Skager, Clearwater, Fla., and seven grandchildren: Marcy Palmer-Bartholow, Bradley Palmer, Lindsay, Bart and Eric Terry, and Courtney and Amanda Hall. He was retired engineer from the Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Power Laboratory. Member of St. Joseph Church in Duquesne and the Westinghouse Foreman's Association. He was a World War II Veteran, Army Air Corp. He attended flight school at West Point. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Sunday at the Maloy-Schleifer Funeral Home, 915 Kennedy Ave., Duquesne. Blessing service at 12:30 p.m. Monday in the funeral home, followed by the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. at St. Joseph Church, Duquesne, with Rev. Dennis Colamarino officiating.
