Born Feb. 15, 1911, in Meyersdale. A son of the late Valentino and Angela Maria (DiChessari) DiValentino. Also preceded in death by his wife, the former Esther Newman, who died Aug. 4, 1982, and four sisters: Frances, Nellie, Rose and Liberty. Survived by two daughters: Carol, wife of Kent Saylor, and Rose, wife of Wayne Livengood; four grandchildren: Gina, Andrew and Zachary Saylor, and Jennifer Livengood, all of Meyersdale. Also three sisters: Georgina Solt, Cancun, Mexico; Stella Edwards and Gloria Nyheim, both of Grantsville. "Gallie" was a member of the Summit Mills Grace Brethren Church and Laborer's Local 419. Raised on a small farm in Meyersdale, he worked as a farmer for many years. He also was a coal miner and a construction worker. In addition, he owned and operated a small trailer court and other rental units in Meyersdale. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Friday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale, where service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, with Pastor Randy Haulk officiating. Interment, Union Cemetery, Meyersdale. Those who wish may make donations to the Grace Brethren Church or the Meyersdale Public Library. Daily American, November 5, 1999 [D0688]
