Diveley, 70, of Garrett RD 1, went to be with the Lord on March 27, 1997, at his home. Born Dec. 2, 1926 in Meyersdale, a son of the late Merl D. and Gladys (Njos) Diveley. Survived by his wife of 49 1/2 years, the former Dorothy J. Burkholder, and five children: John M. married to the former Susan Schradei, Glen Allen, Va.; Dr. Kathleen, wife of Joseph Ellison, Fenton, Mich.; Susan, wife of Vaughn Worsell, Stoystown; Debra, wife of Joseph Fisher, Latrobe; and Jayne wife of Edward Jewart, Home, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Dru and Zachary Steinly; Kelli Jo Fisher; Nick and Kate Jewart; Terri and Pat Ellison; brother, Victor Diveley, North Scituate, R.I.; four sisters: Mary Pritts, Mt. Pleasant; Esther Johnson, Garrett; Betty Bungard, Meyersdale; and Helen Wagner, Salisbury; sister-in-law, Naomi Johnson, Garrett; also a number of nieces and nephews. Veteran of U.S. Navy WW II. Retired from Agway Energy Products with 40 years of service beginning with the Farm Bureau in 1951. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday at the Price Funeral Home, Meyersdale. No visitation Easter Sunday. Service will be conducted 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with pastor Shimer E. Darr officiating. Interment, Center Church Cemetery.
