  DIXON, Ferne Romaine 04/11/06  Daily American  
  
  Ferne Romaine (Bowlby) Dixon, 92, went to be with the Lord April 9, 2006. She was
  born in Brothersvalley Township on March 20, 1914, the daughter of the late
  Harmer and Carrie (Huager) Bowlby. She married Royden H. Dixon of Somerset, Pa.
  on Sept. 28, 1935. He preceded her in death. Survivors include three daughters,
  Gloria D. Dixon, Dr. Greta K.M. Dixon, and Kathryne J. Dixon; and two adopted
  daughters, JoAnn Baker Woodard, Temple Terrace, Fla.; and June M. Schneberger,
  San Antonio. Mrs. Dixon was an accomplished musician and a wonderful wife and
  mother who lived her life for her family and friends. Funeral services will be
  private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Savannah Volunteer
  Fire Department, 77 Frazer Fir Drive, Sylva, NC 28779. Moody Funeral Home and
  Crematorium, Sylva, N.C., is in charge of arrangements.
