Dixon, 66, well known and former business man of Lonaconing, Md., died suddenly at 12:30 p.m., Sunday at his home in Charleroi, Pa., while completing his toilet after rising late. He was found by his wife. He was the son of the late David Dixon, a former postmaster and business man of Lonaconing. After receiving his early education in the public school of Lonaconing he became connected with his father in the mercantile business. Later he managed the Lonaconing ice plant for a number of years, after which he returned to his father's store. He was also a cabinet maker and engraver. He left Lonaconing for Pennsylvania 15 years ago. He was twice married, his first wife being Catherine Hohing Dixon. To this union four children were born, two of which survive together with his wife, Mrs. Minnie Laird Dixon, daughter of the late Joseph and Annie Laird, of Lonaconing. Besides his wife, he leaves a son, James Dixon, Jr., Charleroi, Pa.; David Dixon, Baltimore, and Miss Catherine Dixon, Lonaconing, born of his first marriage. Four brothers, John, Charleroi, Pa.; David, Pittsburgh; Thomas and William Dixon, Lonaconing; and three sisters, Miss Mary Dixon, Meyersdale; Mrs. Jesse Fairchild and Miss Fannie Dixon, Lonaconing.
