Earl Dobbs, 74, Loysville RD 1, a former pastor of the Wills Creek Charge fo United Church of Christ, died Aug. 2, 1972, at his home. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura Dobbs; a son, Leo M. Dobbs, Loysville RD; four grandchildren and a great-granddaughter; also two brothers, Glenn, Loysville RD; Wayne of Blain (Perry County); and two sisters; Mrs. Harvey T. Goodling, Cascade Locks, Ore.; and Mrs. William Schaffer, Duncansville, Pa. Rev. Dobbs had retired from the ministry after 36 years of service. Other charges he served included Woodcock Valley in Huntingdon County; and the Dunning Creek Charge in Bedford County. He was a member of Sandy Hill United Church of Christ at Loysville RD and of Bedford Grange No. 619. Funeral service was held Saturday Aug 5, at Sandy Hill United Church of Christ with Rev. Levain Fouse, Rev. James Gold and Rev. James W. Moyer, D.D., officiating. Interment in Sandy Hill Cemetery. Daily American, Aug 10, 1972 [d0744]
