Mr. Doerr was born at Marburg, Germany, June 3, 1864, and came to this country when six years old. He was a son of the late Yost and Katherine Doerr. He was bedfast since last Thanksgiving Day. He lived on the farm his parents settled on and was one of the oldest and most respected residents of the Grantsville community. He was a member of the Lutheran Church. He married Miss Etta Miller of Pocahontas, Pa., about 40 years ago. He is survived by his wife, two sons, Ray Doerr, Springs, Pa., and Harry Doerr at home, six grandchildren and one sister, Mrs. Elizabeth Major, of Lonaconing. Mrs. Doerr has been an invalid for many years. The son, Harry has cared for her and his father and managed the farm. Funeral services were conducted in the Grantsville Lutheran Church, Friday afternoon, Rev. George Bowersox, the pastor, officiating. Mrs. Harry Hoover and Mrs. Harry Yommer sang during the services. Pallbearers were Daniel Klotz, Emerson Sebold, Milton Rodamer, G. W. Diefenbach, W. H. Miller, and Lloyd Kamp. Among the relatives attending the funeral were Mr. and Mrs. John Slagel, and Mrs. Ed Brill, Somerset, Pa.; Mrs. Jacob Mummau and Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Engle, Berlin, Pa.; Mrs. B. C. McIlwee and Mrs. Pauline Paul, Cumberland; William and Irvin Miller, Meyersdale; Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Major and Mrs. Elizabeth Major, Lonaconing; Mr. and Mrs. Russell Miller, Charleroi, Pa.; Mr. and Mrs. Harry Sausman, Addison, Pa.
