"Ray" Dom, 67, of Cumberland, MD, died Sunday, March 4, 1990, at the Memorial Hospital Hospice Unit, Cumberland, MD. Born in Wellersburg, Sept. 26, 1922, he was the son of the late George William and Mary M. (Suder) Dom. He was preceded in death by his first wife, marie (Mauk) Dom, one son, Larry Burall, and one daughter, Rebecca Ann Ruppart. He owned and operated Dom's Market in LaVale, MD, from 1957 to 1977. He was a former employee of the Western Maryland Railroad, an army veteran of World War II, an active member of the Sandy Crossing Hunting Club and a former member of the Reformed Church of Wellersburg. Surviving are his widow, Nellie F. (Cooky Burall Dom, two sons: Terry R. Dom and Douglas W. Dom, Cumberland, MD; five brothers: J. Curtis Dom, R. Irving Dom and Wilbert H. Dom, Wellersburg; John H. Dom, Meyersdale; and George F. Dom, Hagerstown, MD; two sisters: Grace A. Cook, Hyndman: and Anna M. Knippenburg, Cumberland, MD; five grandchildren and one great-granddaughter. Friends were received at the Silcox - Merritt Funeral Residence, where services were held there Wednesday at 11 a.m. by the Rev. John Longly. Interment, Rocky Gap Veterans Cemetery.
